I remember not having high hopes for this year, and 2015 not ending the way I thought it would. However, 2016 was definitely a year to remember, and in a very positive way. Every single day was unpredictable and exciting. A lot of major milestones occurred as well as a lot of unexpected opportunities. It is such a rewarding feeling ending this year as happy and blessed as I am.
Here is a little recap of some iconic moments of 2016:
I finished off my seven year volleyball career with my second year of coaching. I absolutely loved coaching, encouraging them to be the best at something I was very passionate about. It was very bittersweet, but so rewarding seeing the impact I left on my girls.
I was lucky enough to be chosen to be included in a program with my absolute favorite store, which made my fashion-obsessed self oh so giddy. This particular experience encouraged me to really pursue the major I was passionate about.
I finally graduated from a place where I had felt I would never leave. High school brought a lot of ups and downs, but it is so rewarding finishing with so many accomplishments and great friends by your side who suffered through all those theme books with ya!
The summer before college, the best summer of my life. I was fortunate enough to travel the world for the first time with some of the most amazing people I have ever met and witness the Lord’s miracles the entire time. I am now addicted to traveling and want to go everywhere - London 2017 is officially happening, EEEP!
I officially decided to attend the University of South Carolina. I had done a lot of thinking, but to be honest it was a very spur-of-the-moment kind of thing (lol, spur). Was it a bad idea to choose a college simply based on the program they had for my major? Possibly. As I look back now, it was the best decision I have ever made. I have made the most incredible friends, who I can barely handle being away from for this past month! I also joined an organization bigger than myself, which inspires me everyday to be a real, strong woman.

When they say you meet your best friends in college, they are not lying (I don't even know who this “they” is though). Luckily, I have had my other half by my side for the whole ride!
2016 brought many new friends, but also led me to reconnect with those who have been in my life for so long. It is definitely tough going to college away from home, but there is something so comforting about coming home and starting right where you left off with your best friends.

2016 was the year of opportunity, adventure, and passion. You can do anything if you put your mind and heart all in. I met my people early and late in the year. The kind of people that show you to love yourself because they love you, the kind of people who you can talk to about everything and anything, the kind of people that get you in ways that seem unimaginable. That is not luck, it is grace. God brought all these amazing people into my life and I could not be more unworthy, but He does it anyways. He is blessing us with His grace and bringing the great things we trampled through all the bad for.
2016 showed me the Lord is always by your side, even through the tough times. His love and grace for us will always shine through. Life is short, Love is crazy, and God is good.
2017, I cannot wait to see all you have in store. What were your favorite moments of 2016?
