HOW TO STYLE OVERALLS 3 WAYS
I have to admit, a few years ago I thought overalls were so tacky. However, my style has evolved a lot since then, as well as my ability to understand the versatility of garments! I saw these amazing overalls at Dress Up and knew they had to be mine. I love the rips on the legs and the length is perfect on my 5 foot 2 inch self. I wanted to make the overalls more trendy and perfect for any occasion, through the use of different shoes, tops, and accessories. So I have put together 3 different looks using the same pair of overalls! (My exact overalls are out of stock online, but here are some great options under $100: one, two, and three.)
Look 1 - Fun and Flirty
For the first look I wanted to show y'all how overalls can be glam-ed up a little. I opted for this linen, subtle-fringe tank from the Loft outlet. I added a belt to define my waist line a little better, and these western belts are very trendy right now! For shoes, I went with these really fun short block heels from DSW which I am head-over-heels for (pun intended). I rolled the bottoms since the shoes tie around the ankle. I love wearing a bold shoe with a simple top, as well as the leather in the belt tying together with the base of the shoes. This outfit is perfect for a family dinner or brunch with the girls.Look 2 - Sporty Chic
The next look, I put together something very casual and comfortable, but still very stylish. I love the way overalls and sneakers compliment each other. You could definitely pair a bold top, like a vibrant red orange, but I opted for a simple black and white striped tee to keep a more monochromatic look. I did add a pop of color with this super cool hat from Express! This shade of pink is gorgeous and the satiny texture adds a pop to this simple outfit. I also did one strap undone to make the overalls more relaxed, as well as unrolling the bottoms. I would honestly wear this outfit anywhere! I can even see myself wearing it in the fall for gameday if I just switch this hat for a Carolina one.
Look 3 - Bold Florals
This final look is definitely a more unconventional way to wear overalls, but I really like it! I put this stunning off-the-shoulder burgundy floral top over top the overalls. I like how the hooks on the overalls hold the top from slipping up (which can get very annoying with this style shirt)! This feminine shirt balances the distressed boyfriend denim perfectly. As for these Steve Madden wedges, I am obsessed! They are surprisingly very comfortable and would seriously match any outfit. I would definitely wear this outfit for a day in the city or even a date night (I mean I am not going on any dates lol, but if I was, I would totally wear this outfit).
As for my jewelry, I kept it all the same for each look. You can really never go wrong with gold hoops and a simple Kendra Scott druzy necklace!
Thank you so much for reading! I would love to know which look was your favorite. I hope I have inspired you to give overalls a shot. Also, big thank you to Blair from allthingsblair.com for taking these pictures for me!
