CURRENT FAVORITES

Hey y'all! I cannot believe September is already almost over. I apologize for slacking on my blog, I know my posts have been very sporadic lately, but I am finally getting back into the swing of things. The school year is slowly absorbing me, but I am not too upset about it! I thrive off of being busy. I feel as if it is that way for a lot of people; what about you, does being busy make you stressed or oddly content? I have always found myself on the path to success when I keep myself involved and engaged... Anyways! Into what this post is really about, my current beauty, style, and lifestyle must-haves. Over the past few months, I have accumulated and discovered a lot of things I am obsessed with. I am sharing with you because I believe you need to be obsessed with them too, they are that great.

Reading Girlboss, by Sophia Amoruso, has been on my to-do list for a while, but I am not a big reader. So, I opted for the Netflix series first and fell in love with her journey and entrepreneurial drive. Then I discovered Girlboss radio, Sophia's own podcasts where she interviews those she considers "girlbosses". I have never dabbled into the podcast scene, but I actually really enjoy them. I started listening to these on my way back to school since they are about 50 minutes long per podcast. Each podcast is so inspiring, each in a different way. I listen to one whenever I have the time to actually pay attention to the whole thing or am needing some motivation to get sh*t done. At the same time, however, I am trying to not go through all of them too quickly (because I'm weird and if I love something I never want it to end aka I never finish it lol). If you need a girly pow-wow inspo kick, listen to Girlboss radio (on Spotify or iTunes), trust me!

I give all credit to my Birkenstock obsession to my friend Brookelynn, and man oh man am I thankful for her convincing me to get some. Birkenstocks are really hands down some of the most, if not the most, comfortable shoes on the market. I've had the 'Mayari' style for a little over two years now; they have thin double criss-cross straps with a toe loop. I wore them so often, all throughout Greece, and throughout most of Cyprus as well. They have been through a lot, so I decided it was time to switch it up. While I was in Cyprus I purchased my metallic 'Arizonas'. They are more magical than my other pair and I have no clue why. Maybe it was the hype about a new pair or something, I don't know! I wear them every day, as they match basically every outfit. Bottom line is all Birkenstocks are magnificent, but I have a special love for this pair.

I have always heard almost every beauty guru rave about this CC cream but swore I would not like it because I have extremely oily skin. This summer I decided to say "why not" and purchase a mini bottle (because mini versions are way more fun than full-size, honestly). Let me tell you, this stuff is worth the hype. It is exactly what it states to be, your skin but better! My skin looked naturally radiant, color balanced, without enhancing further oiliness. The cream is very lightweight, which is very important to me since I do not enjoy wearing heavy foundations for more than about an hour, and is extremely comfortable in warm or cool weather. If you have not tried this product, run, don't walk to your nearest Ulta/Sephora!

Altar'd State Denim Shorts

Denim shorts are a staple in every girl's wardrobe. They easily elevate any outfit, without (usually) sacrificing comfort. For me, that was not the case. I did not find denim shorts comfortable! Until I found this pair from Altar'd State, and I finally understand. The wash is on the darker side, but not too dark, and the fringe detail provides this effortless chic. I wore these the other day with a white tee, and I got so many compliments on how cute I looked. Proof that the perfect pair of denim shorts truly upgrades any outfit by quite a few notches. Although it is starting to get cooler, these would pair adorably with a sweater and short ankle booties, or sneakers, a graphic tee, and a leather jacket.

Glam Glow Cleanser

I have had this cleanser for well over 6 months, but would just use it here and there. Recently, it has become a staple in my skin care regimen. Whenever I feel like my skin needs a quick detox, I always wash my face with this mud to foam bad boy. Oh, and it smells amazing, it is a refreshing minty-licorice scent. The "mud" part gets deep into your pores and sucks all the gunk out, and then it foams into this light bubbly wash to sweep it all away. However, I must say, it can dry out your skin easily, which I personally enjoy because of my oily skin, but if you have dry skin just be sure to moisturize extra. I am still wanting to try to the Glam Glow SuperMud Mask as well if you have tried it let me know if it's worth the money!

the Skimm

This summer I realized how out of the loop I was. I really do not enjoy reading the news all the time, and had no idea how else to keep up with all that is happening in the world, until I discovered the Skimm! I actually heard about this website on a GirlBoss Podcast. It is a daily newsletter that lets you know everything you need to know. I personally love the deliverance of the material. The founders of the Skimm created this unique voice, which is extremely relatable and entertaining to young women. The Skimm is funny, witty, and informative, and I have never been bored by any of their stories. If you are anything like me and simply dread reading long news articles to stay informed, sign up for the Skimm, you will not regret it.
